Simmons Bedding Company is a pioneer mattress manufacturing company and one of the oldest running bedding brands in the United States. Zalmon Simmons, who commissioned the first factory in Wisconsin, founded Simmons in 1870. Currently, the company has its headquarters in Atlanta Georgia and several manufacturing plants spread out across the US and Canada.
Simmons started producing cheese boxes and wooden insulators before venturing into the production of wire-wooven mattresses. The company experienced tremendous growth after WW1 and established manufacturing plants in major cities in Canada and the USA. Interestingly, the company also produced and supplied parachutes and 2,500 plus products to the US military.
Over the years, Simmons has manufactured and supplied a range of high quality mattresses that satisfy the sleeping needs of diverse customers. Simmons has consistently delivered exceptional results in product innovation and service delivery. Like its fierce competitors, Simmons maintains an impressive momentum that has enabled it to develop superior mattress brands that guarantee routine comfortable sleep.
In 2006, Simmons introduced the Beautyrest Black line brand and followed immediately with the Naturalcare line of mattresses. In 2007, the company introduced Comforpedic and the ComforPedic Loft line and followed it with the Smart Response Pocketed Coil technology in 2011. Simons products continue to evolve allowing people to enjoy enhanced comfort and sleep.
As a leading mattress brand, Simmons generates revenue of over $1 billion in worldwide sales annually. The company owes its long–standing success to progressive technological innovations that transformed it from a one-man enterprise in 1870 into a leading brand name. Though the ownership of the company has changed more than twice, Simmons brand maintains a strong presence in the bedding and furnishings market.
